Nevada scored 12 points in the final 15 minutes of the game, and came from behind to beat Knoxville 19-15 last night. The Cubs got on the board early on after the Panthers short punt gave Nevada good field position inside the Panthers 20 yard line. However, Knoxville would score in the second quarter on a Jacob Zuck 6 yard pass to Trent Davis to tie the score at seven going into halftime. Knoxville would seem to seize momentum in the third quarter when Davis returned a punt 78 yards for a score to make it 15-7 after the two-point conversion. After that it was all Nevada as the Cubs would take the lead with just over seven minutes remaining in the game. Coach Eric Kellar told KNIA/KRLS Sports it got away from his team by not doing the basics. Cam Liston led the Panthers on the ground with 34 yards on nine carries while Zuck was 5/12 for 63 yards and a touchdown. Knoxville is now 1-3 on the season the 0-2 in district play. The Panthers will host Carlisle for homecoming next week.
