The volleyball team went 1-3 in New York, losing to Roger Williams and Clarkson on Friday, falling to SUNY-Brockport on Saturday, and then finishing the trip with a victory over SUNY-Oneota.
The women’s golf team finished second to host Luther in the two-day ten-team Sail Classic in Cedar Falls. The Norse shot 651, the Dutch carded a 653 and traditional IIAC power Wartburg was third at 670. Cierra Pulse paced the Dutch with scores of 81 and 77 to finish third individually.
The soccer teams each dropped their season opener to Alma in Michigan on Saturday. The women were beaten 3-2 in overtime, while the men fell 1-0 in regulation. On Sunday, the men bounced back with a 1-0 win over Olivet, and the women played to a 1-1 draw at Albion.
The women’s tennis team opened its season with matching 8-1 victories over both Knox and Monmouth in Illinois.
