The 2016 Homecoming Queen and King have been crowned at Pella High School.
Paloma Mate-Kodjo and Ryan Van Maanen were selected to represent the school this week for festivities. Mate-Kodjo says she’s looking forward to the honor, despite being initially a bit shocked at the outcome.
“I was definitely a little surprised, and I’m happy that [her peers] have chosen me to represent the school,” she says.
Van Maanen says he’s excited to he how the rest of the week unfolds.
‘I’m really looking forward to just seeing the whole school come together as one during homecoming,” he says.
This year’s court also includes Ciara Buchheit, Alice Lickteig, Kristin Rundle, Katie Vander Molen, Tyson Wassenaar, Cameron Blom, Donovan Holterhaus, and Nick Finney. Pella will celebrate homecoming this Friday with their football game against Knoxville, which can be heard live on KNIA and KRLS. The KNIA/KRLS Lil’ Big Red Radio will also take part in Friday’s pep rally activities.
