The Pella football will snap their helmets and pads a bit tighter as they prepare for a physical game with district foe Carlisle tonight.
At 3-0 and looking for win number 32 in a row, the Little Dutch will have to contend with the run option offense of the Wildcats that’s rushed for over 300 yards per game so far this year.
Head Coach Jay McKinstrey says the Wildcat faces may be different after big senior classes graduated each of the past two seasons, but the Dutch know mostly what to expect when Carlisle comes to town.
“You kind of go back to what’s worked for us in the past,” he says. “Here’s what’s been good, here’s what we haven’t done so well, and you work with the kids and drill that and practice that, and try to anticipate what they might do, but it’s just assignment football.”
Pella hosts the Wildcats at 7:30 p.m., with pregame beginning at 7 on KRLS2 at kniakrls.com. Andrew Schneider and Randy Sikkema will call the action live.
