The Pleasantville FFA Chapter was recently visited by the Agricultural Minister of Kosovo.
Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Bill Northey had previously visited the chapter’s crop, livestock, and hydroponics operations and suggested to the Minister that the visit would give him an opportunity to observe the operation of a small scale farm. Members Sawyer Phillips and Jack Lauer tell KNIA/KRLS News they were honored by the referral. Lauer says the program is recognized as one of the best in the nation. Phillips noticed Minister was especially interested in the technical ag skills the program lets members develop from a young age. Kosovo, Iowa’s sister state has agriculture based around small farms which grow the country’s chief export, raspberries.
