For the 2-0 Pleasantville Trojans week three of the 2016 season sees the opening of district play and a road trip to Truro Iowa as the Trojans look to do battle with the Interstate 35 Road Runners.
After a 28-14 home opening win for the Trojans behind Junior Hunter Tyree’s four touchdowns and 282 all-purpose yards, the Trojans look to keep the wins coming as their three headed rushing attack gets set to try to run all over the Road Runners of Interstate 35. The three headed rushing monster lead by Junior Hunter Tyree, Senior Sawyer Phillips and Sophomore Cael Lester had a combined 244 yards rushing in week one but only 160 combined rushing yards in week 2. The Trojans will look to crank up the run game against the Road Runners this week, and after a three touchdown night in week one by Sawyer Phillips and a four touchdown night in week two for Hunter Tyree, could this week be the week we see Sophomore Cael Lester have himself a multi touchdown night? Head Coach Gabe Bakker is confident in all of his three running backs and knows they couldn’t be as good as they are without the others. The Trojans will look to get things running tonight down in Truro against the Road Runners. Nathan Sage and Ron Danks will have the call starting at 6:30 with the Iowa State Savings Bank Radio Pregame show and the kickoff to follow at 7 pm.
