Central College’s baseball program is hosting an eight-week hitting league this fall to provide instruction to local middle school and high schoolers.

Coach Matt Schirm says that each week they’ll dive deep on a particular aspect of hitting.

“We’ll talk about hitting mechanics, approach at the plate, situational hitting – hit and runs, scoring runners from third base with less than two outs, moving runners from second to third. We’ll talk about mental approach at the plate, bunting, pitch selection – we’ll really cover everything.”

The hitting league will run every Sunday night from October 23rd through December 11th. Students in grades five through eight will go from 6:30 to 7:45 each Sunday, with those in grades nine through 12 going from 7:45 to 9:00.

The cost is 125-dollars per student, and you can register online by clicking here.
