The Central College women’s golf team climbed within one stroke of the lead at the Iowa Conference championships with a spectacular third round yesterday afternoon.

Wartburg held a 19 stroke lead after the first two rounds, but Central outscored the Knights by 18 shots yesterday to get the lead down to one. The fourth and final round is today at Prairie Links in Waverly.

The Dutch volleyball team entered Friday night in a four-way tie for first place in the Iowa Conference at 3-1, but dropped a three set decision to another co-leader – Coe.

The final tally was 25-19, 25-21, 25-19, sending Central to 9-9 on the season and 3-2 in league play.
