A week after turning it over six times in a 35-17 loss to Dubuque, the Central College football team must bounce back against another unbeaten Iowa Conference leader – Coe.

It was the first loss of the season, and it came in uncharacteristic fashion. The Dutch had committed just three turnovers as they started the season 4-0, then they doubled that number in just 60 minutes last Saturday.

Coach Jeff McMartin says that mission number one against the Kohawks is to hold on to the football, and then develop a balanced offensive attack.

“They’ve got two good defensive ends, and if they can just pin their ears back and come after you that’s how Coe likes to play defense. They get you into long yardage situations and places where you have to throw the ball, and that’s where you get into trouble against them. So if we can keep it manageable and get into situations where we can either run the ball or throw the ball, without tipping our hand, those are things that are going to help us have success offensively.”

Today’s game starts at 1:00 in Cedar Rapids. Trevor Castle, Cory Houser and Libbie Randall are making the trip to call the action live on 92.1 KRLS, beginning with pregame coverage at 12:35.
