Racing Saturday in Storm Lake, the Central College men finished fourth and the women took fifth at the Iowa Conference Meet.

In a tightly bunched men’s race, Loras won with 67 points, both Nebraska Wesleyan and Wartburg scored 70, and the Dutch tallied 72. Central’s Mark Fairley finished third, Tanner Rathje was fourth and Isaac Steffensmeier took eighth.

Nebraska Wesleyan’s 40 points put them comfortably in front of Wartburg’s 54 for the women’s team title. Central’s 126 had them squarely in the middle of the pack. Rachel Peter took 15th individually for the Dutch.

Both teams are off until November 12th when they’ll run in the central regional meet in Northfield, Minnesota.
