For the first time in program history, Pella Christian finished their regular season perfect.

And as they have all year, it was another dominating performance, with the No. 2 Eagles defeating Woodward-Granger 49-8 as heard live on KNIAKRLS.com.

Pella Christian bottled up the Hawks all night long despite some offensive miscues and special teams turnovers. Assistant Coach Verlan Nikkel believes the defense is playing its best football heading into the playoffs.

“It’s just crazy, because at halftime when we looked at the halftime stats, and they had 13 carries and only had four yards,” he says. “And their top runner tonight coming in had over 1200 yards coming into the game.”

“To be able to shut [Tanner Vermaas] down the way we did really I think is a statement for our defense.”

Pella Christian finishes 9-0 as district champs, and will host a first round playoff game.
