Grant Fee, a farmer near of Melcher-Dallas was assisted harvesting beans on Friday by more than 15 friends and neighbors.

Fee was diagnosed with a rare cancer earlier in the year and a doctor told him to avoid strenuous activity. Fee was uncertain he would be able to complete the harvest, but as KNIA/KRLS News spoke with him Friday afternoon six combines were cutting beans and several trucks were hauling grain. Fee became emotional as he watched them work. He says he wouldn’t trade his neighbors for anything in the world and he could hardly express how much their help meant to him. The group harvested about 150 acres of Fee’s crop.
