The KNIA/KRLS Save-a-Life Radiothon finished yesterday with the Knoxville Hospital and Clinics half of the annual event.

Dr. Bob Leonard talked with medical professionals, cancer survivors, and their families on KNIA/KRLS. Dr. Shannon Remington with Knoxville Hospital and Clinics tells KNIA/KRLS News those diagnosed have many options for treatment. She shared information about mastectomies and hysterectomies. During the broadcast people filled the hospital lobby for the girls night out event, which offered food, accessories candles, massages and more. Public Relations Manager Katrina Nelson says the event was more well attend this year than any previous year. Knoxville Hospital and Clinics, Pella Regional Health Center and Marion County Public Health have partnered each October for the past ten years on Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the KNIA/KRLS Save-a-Life Radiothon.
