Knoxville brought home a conference championship from the South Central Conference Cross Country meet in Centerville last night as the boys led by Justin Little’s second place effort put four runners in the top ten to dominate the team title winning over second place Chariton by 39 points. Little along with Jack McDonald, Cade McNeill, and Jordan Bacon all placed in the top ten for earn all-conference honors. On the girls side, the Panthers placed second just 14 points behind Albia. Knoxville was led by Mickayla McGill in fourth place, Lucy Olson came in seventh and Emery Neer was eighth to earn all-conference. Coach Michael Splavec told KNIA/KRLS Sports everyone gave a tremendous effort and he was proud of all of his runners. The Panthers now look forward to the State Qualifying Meet next Thursday in Pella.
