The State Qualifier is next on the agenda for the Knoxville Cross Country Squads. The Panthers have the unenviable task of running at the Pella site where Pella and Grinnell are ranked on the boy’s side, and the girls have to contend with the top ranked team in 3A, Pella plus sixth ranked Ballard. Coach Michael Splavec tells KNIA/KRLS the odds of qualifying a team are very slim. With that he is telling his teams to run their fastest times and play a spoiler role. Splavec adds if one of his runners has the perfect day and sneaks into the state meet, then that would be even better. The meet gets going at four at the Central College course.
