The Knoxville Cross Country Squads will run at Centerville tonight. The Panthers are looking to build for the big meets that are coming up later in October like the conference meet and the state qualifier. Coach Michael Splavec tells KNIA/KRLS Sports the girls, after winning the conference in cross country last year, and most of the girls returning from the track and field conference title last spring, are gaining confidence at the right time. Splavec adds it is a different runner nearly every time that leads the team across the line. Recently, Mickayla McGill has played the role of the rabbit. He adds it is a good problem to have knowing each girl can at any time step up in a meet.
