The top-ranked Pella High volleyball team has a nearly two week break between their championship at the Little Hawkeye Conference tournament last Thursday and their first regional game next week.

The Lady Dutch received a first round bye in class 4-A Region 3, and don’t play until next Tuesday against either Knoxville or Carlisle.

Coach Catie Brand says this week’s preparation include a trip to Iowa City for a scrimmage tomorrow night.

“That will be great to just see some different teams that we haven’t plaed this year. Then we’ll just fine tune and find out if we play Knoxville or Carlisle. We’ll go watch that game and get ready. It’s a fun part of the season, the girls will get excited – there’s just a great atmosphere in our gym when it’s tournament time.”

Knoxville and Carlisle play this Wednesday night in Knoxville, and the winner draws Pella next Tuesday night at Pella High School. Winerset, Des Moines Hoover and Norwalk are on the other side of the regional bracket.
