Both the Central women and men used late goals to finish the regular season with victories over Wartburg yesterday afternoon.

The women were down 1-0 at halftime, but Kallie Holte punched one in off a rebound to tie the game early in the second half, and Erin Manion’s 10th goal of the season was the winner in the 88th minute.

Central improves to 14-3-1 overall and finishes Iowa Conference play at 6-2 and in third place. The Dutch will host Nebraska Wesleyan on Saturday in the first round of the league tournament.

The men were also down a goal at the break, 2-1, before Bryce Leonard tied it in the 76th minute. Kiel Pederson then knocked in the game winner nearly seven minutes into the first overtime.

Central is now 11-6 and finishes Iowa Conference play at 5-3, part of a four way tie for third. They have received the fourth seed in the league tournament and will host Simpson on Saturday.
