Three nights after dispatching North Mahaska, the Pella Christian volleyball team is back in action tonight in a class 2-A region five semifinal against Central Decatur.

Tonight’s matchup between the 24-12 Eagles and the 23-6 Cardinals will take place in Pleasantville.

Pella Christian Coach John Evenhouse hasn’t seen Central Decatur in person, but he’s impressed with their record.

“That means that they can beat ball clubs. They don’t play the same teams that we do, but generally what happens with teams like that is that they can dig the ball. They might not have two or three hitters who can put it away for them, but they keep it alive and they figure that you’re going to make an error.”

The other semifinal in the bracket tonight is between seventh-ranked Council Bluffs Saint Albert and number eleven Treynor. The winners will play next Tuesday in Creston.

Tonight’s matchup between the Eagles and Cardinals will start at 7:00 in Pleasantville.
