Planning is underway to determine how Pella Historical Society will use property donated by Casey’s General Store at the corner of Broadway and Washington.

President of the Pella Historical Board Lori Ellingson tells KNIA/KRLS News the gift from the convenience store chain was a surprise. Last week, Casey’s and Pella Historical Society announced the acquisition, which will take place after a new Casey’s store opens on Main Street just south of downtown.

Director of Pella Historical Valerie Van Kooten says a board subcommittee aims to get input from various city leaders and members of Pella Historical Society as to how to use the land once the Casey’s store closes down.
