A week after a blowing out Norwalk in a top-three showdown, Pella puts its 35-game winning streak on the line as they welcomes North Polk to town tonight for senior night.

Little Dutch coach Jay McKinstrey says that after that 38-0 victory, he’s hoping that his players aren’t resting on their laurels heading into the home stretch.

“Our main focus this week has really been to come back after a big win and to be mentally tough and improve a little bit more. We’re at that point in the season where we don’t want to take any steps back. We’re looking to go forward, and that’s a big key tonight that our kids can keep moving forward and keep getting a little bit better. I talked to our kids about this game being a statement game – we’re coming into the playoffs, here we come.”

North Polk is 4-3 overall and 3-2 in district play. They are still mathematically alive for the playoffs, but their chances hinge on beating the second-ranked Little Dutch tonight.

Kickoff is at 7:30 at Pella High School. Trevor Castle and Randy Sikkema will call the action live on our KRLS 2 stream of KNIA/KRLS dot com, beginning with pregame coverage at 7:00.
