When Gabe Bakker was first hired as the Pleasantville Head Football Coach, one of the first things he was told about was the longtime rivalry between traditional powers Madrid and the Trojans.

That rivalry will be renewed tonight on the gridiron as the Trojans will host the Tigers in their first round matchup. Both teams sports identical 8-1 records, with both teams losing to top five ranked opponents as their only blemish. Madrid continues to not have many wrinkles in their offense, relying on their star running back Michael Santi, who is fifth in the state in rushing yards with 1844.

The Trojans boast their own strong rushing attack, but it will be the Pleasantville defense that will have to step up the most. Coach Bakker said the team has to be ready for the big play Madrid offense. The game tonight can be heard live on KNIAKRLS.com via the KNIA3 stream with Andrew Swadner and Ron Danks on the call. Pregame starts at 6:30, kickoff is scheduled for 7pm.
