Local law enforcement is reminding everyone to exercise caution as trick-or-treaters make their way through area communities.

Lt. Paul Haase with the Pella Police Department encourages those driving to pay extra attention on Beggar’s Night and use caution.

“We just want to remind everyone in the community that there will be a lot of children out on the roadways, out crossing the roads, out in the neighborhoods,” he says. “Some of these neighborhoods fill up quickly.”

He also encourages parents to supervise younger children as they go door-to-door, and to give all kids safety reminders about accepting candy and protecting themselves from strangers.
