The Simpson Storm defense played strong after giving up an opening drive touchdown to the Wartburg Knights on Saturday, but the offense just couldn’t muster enough points as the Storm fell 20-6.

The normally dependable Storm rushing attack was held in check to the tune of just 31 yards gained, and failure to close out drives with points was the dagger for Simpson. The Storm trailed 10-3 at halftime, and held the Knights to just six points after the opening drive for several quarters before eventually giving up a late touchdown that sealed Simpsons fate. Caleb Frye threw for 262 yards, but also gave up three interceptions, and Jackson Redmond had six catches for 84 yards to lead the Storm. Simpson falls to 2-4 and 1-3 in Iowa Conference play, and return home this Saturday to take on winless Loras.
