Finding themselves down by 15 points late in the fourth quarter, a furious comeback by the Simpson Storm Football Team fell just short of Nebraska Wesleyan yesterday afternoon in a 24-22 defeat.

The Storm would find themselves down 10-9 at halftime on a touchdown by Ricky Reeve, but a missed extra point would be the difference. After allowing the Prairie Wolves to score and get a 24-9 lead, Jackson Redmond would get a clutch receiving touchdown late in the fourth to make it close, but another missed extra point would keep the storm down by two scores, and the comeback looked bleak. However, a recovered onside kick followed by a Nate Russell touchdown, followed by another recovered onside kick set the Storm up for a game winning 44 yard field goal attempt by Travis Tupper to complete the comeback. The game winner had plenty of leg, but sailed wide right, to give the Storm the loss. Jackson Redmond had 13 catches for 187 yards receiving, but star running back Jordan Beem was held to just 18 yards rushing on 12 attempts. The Storm fall to 3-5 overall and 2-4 in Iowa Conference play, and will play rival Central in Pella this Saturday.
