Twin Cedars will open up the eight-man playoffs tonight at home against Iowa Valley. The Sabers for the most part rolled through their competition in the regular season to go 9-0 while Iowa Valley comes into its first ever eight-man playoff game after being in 11-man with a 7-2 record. Sabers Coach Aaron Allspach tells KNIA/KRLS sports his team will have to know where Iowa Valley’s Bennett Goettsch is on every play. The running back has rolled up nearly 1600 yards on the ground and can also throw it. Allspach says his linebackers will have to do a good job of reading each play. The Sabers will counter with a three-pronged effort of Quarterback Nick Haselhuhn, running back Dakota Pinegar, and receiver Trace Embray. Allspach says they may need to spread it out at times to combat Iowa Valley’s defense. You can hear the play-by-play on kniakrls.com with Derek Cardwell and Brian Vander Sluis with the pre-game at 6:30 and the kick off at seven.
