Four titles and 17 placewinners provided a promising start to the Central College wrestling season at the Super 8 Invitational hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Platteville on Saturday.

No team scores were kept in the six-team invitational.

Last year’s NCAA runner-up, C.J. Pestano, picked up three victories to win at 125 pounds. His training partner is a transfer, Cam Timok, who won four bouts to take the title at 133 pounds.

Another pair of training partners also won championships Saturday – Ryan Vandall at 165 and Jeremy Vester at 157.

Up next for the Dutch is the Harold Nichols Open at Iowa State this Sunday.
