The Central College wrestling team heads to Ames Sunday for a meet at Iowa State University.

Head Coach Eric Van Kley says that wrestling is unique in that athletes from division three get opportunities to compete against those from division two and even division one.

“Iowa State will be there. Nebraska and Missouri will be there. A couple of years ago when we were there, Minnesota was there. And you get to put it out there – it doesn’t matter where you’re from or what division you’re in. You’ve got seven minutes to prove it, and we’ve got guys who are excited for that challenge. Plus, it’s fun wrestling at Hilton Colliseum.”

Sunday’s event is second tournament of the year for the Dutch, who brought eight wrestlers to the finals last weekend in Platteville, Wisconsin.
