Senior Xavier Miller and Sophomores Wes Cummings, Lucas Roland and Jarron Trausch all find themselves ranked individually in their respected weight classes in Class 2A to start the 2016 wrestling season.

All four wrestlers already expecting to wrestle at the state meet at the end of the season are primed and ready for the season to open up next Saturday at a tournament in Dallas Center-Grimes. The four wrestlers will look to lead the Mustangs as a team but have already garnered attention and respect in their own weight classes. Senior Xavier Miller the 4th ranked wrestler at 145 pounds will look to return to the state tournament in his final year on the mat and hopes to contend for that elusive state championship. All-State Sophomore running back Wes Cummings coming off an break out football season will also look to contended for a state championship as he opens the season ranked 7th at 152 pounds. And not to be out done Sophomore Jarron Trausch the All-District linebacker for the Mustangs will also look to be in contention for a state title at 170 pounds as he comes into 2016 ranked 6th. And the highest ranked Mustang in Class 2A Lucas Roland ranked 2nd at 160lbs could have the best chance out of all the Mustang wrestlers to bring back a state championship to Monroe. All four wrestlers will be the talk of the mat in Monroe this season as the winter wrestling season opens up next Saturday for the Mustangs.
