The PCM cross country season ended a few weeks ago after Senior Chis Ellens wrapped up his Senior season with a 16th place at the state meet.

The Mustangs as a team would end their season at the state qualifying meet on October 20th with only advancing Ellens to the state meet. One runner from the 2015 squad that was trying to return to the 2016 state meet was Sophomore Payton Schut. After a 77th finish at state her Freshmen year, Payton would only muster a 29th placed finish at the state qualifying meet in Pella this year, a very disappointing finish for the Sophomore who was looking to get back to the state meet in Fort Dodge. Head Coach Eric Karr knows his Sophomore will use the poor finish in the last race of her 2016 season to motivate her for her Junior year. Payton will have to wait till next fall to try to regain that state qualifying success from her Freshmen year.
