The PCM Mustangs took care of the Knoxville Panthers on Saturday 49-19.

In that game the Senior returning starters lead the way for the Mustangs, but with Senior Jayci Vos sidelined for the season it was time for some youth on the Mustang bench to step up, and step up is what they did. Freshmen Regan Freland finished 2nd on the team in scoring with eight points of her own while dishing out three assists and snatching two steals and even blocking a shot. If the Mustangs want to have the season they expected before the injury by Vos, they will need nightly performances like Saturday by their Freshmen.  Freland won’t have to wait long for an encore performance as the Mustangs hit the hardwood again tonight as they host Green County at the PCM gym. The Mustangs will look to move to 2-0 on the short season and prove to the rest of the Heart of Iowa Conference they are definitely a team to deal with despite the loss of one of their Senior leaders.
