The Pella Christian girls basketball team spoiled another new gym opening last night, knocking off 12th-ranked Montezuma 48-43 to improve to 2-0 on the young season.

The Eagles trailed 26-14 at halftime, and didn’t take the lead until there were 4 minutes left in the fourth quarter.

Sophomore Emma Huisman led the scoring with 12 points for Pella Christian, while Kaley Wilson added nine. Isabella Baugh also scored 9 and grabbed a team-high 12 rebounds.

Pella Christian will enjoy the Thanksgiving break, and return to action with its home opener Monday night against A-D-M. That’s also our first Eagle basketball broadcast of the season on KRLS.
