Pella Christian placed four players on the 2016 INA Class 1-A All-State football team, led by Levi Jungling, who was named the captain.

Jungling is joined on the first team by David Kacmarynski and Jackson Flagel, while Nathan De Bruin was named to the second team. It’s the third straight year that each Jungling and Kacmarynski have been chosen as all-state.

Jungling set Iowa’s all-time mark for receiving yards with 3,818 in his career and finished with 46 touchdowns. This past season, he led all of class 1-A with 52 receptions for 1,177 and 18 touchdowns.

Kacmarynski threw for 2,106 yards and 35 touchdowns this year, ran for 722 yards and nine scores, and was the team’s leading tackler with 54.5.

Flagel racked up a team-high 15 solo tackles for loss and three sacks, while De Bruin nailed 69-of-71 extra points, second best in the entire state, regardless of class.

Pella Christian had its first undefeated regular season in 2016, and finished 10-1 overall after a loss to Iowa City Regina in the state quarterfinals.
