After a heartbreaking comeback attempt fell just short in the first round of the playoffs against Madrid, the state of the Trojan Football Program is still trending upward.

The team did lose a senior class of eight, including middle linebacker/running back Sawyer Phillips who has led the team in tackles for the last three seasons, but a strong junior class of skill players will lead the way for the Trojans in 2017. Quarterback Owen Worthington, running backs Hunter Tyree and Cael Lester, and wide receiver Gauge Van Haalen are all returning having been significant contributors. Even more reinforcements are coming for the Trojans, said Head Coach Gabe Bakker. A full recap of the Trojans season can be heard on the Knoxville Hyvee Radio Coaches Corner in the coming weeks.
