The winter sports season will officially start tonight for the Pleasantville Trojan Girls Basketball Team, as they host the Rockets of Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont.

The girls had a 7-15 record one season ago, which included a 52-30 loss to the Rockets to open their season. The Rockets had a 16-7 record last year, but lose 20 point per game scorer Karlie Taylor. The Trojans will bring back their top three guards in Kelsee Van Haalen, Corinne Thomas and Madyson Thill, but lose their top rebounders in Bailey Oliva and Kylee Stecker from the squad. The JV game will start at 6pm in Pleasantville, with Varsity scheduled to tip off at 7:30. The Pleasantville boys will also have a group scrimmage tonight at Martensdale-St. Mary’s.
