Twin Cedars’ Trace Embray grabbed two of the three M-V-P awards for eight-man all-district this season, plus Jake Crozier was named the top offensive lineman following the Sabers historic 10-1 campaign in 2016 and five Melcher-Dallas players earned all-district as well. Embray received the offensive M-V-P, the dual threat of running and receiving with 508 yards rushing and nine touchdowns plus 889 yards receiving and 11 scores. Embray’s special teams M-V-P was due in large part to his six touchdown returns on punts and kick-offs combined. Also making all-district for the Sabers were Dakota Pinegar, James Elliott, Quenton Goemaatt, Andrew Stanhope, Jake Knox, and Nick Haselhuhn and receiving honorable mention was Logan Anderson. For the Saints, who finished 4-5 on the season earning all-district was Dalton Lovell, Zach Moore, Ethan Harrington, and Connor Dawson with Sam Houston receiving honorable mention.
