Both Central College basketball teams entered Iowa Conference play last night against Coe with undefeated records. Both left Cedar Rapids with their first blemish of the season.

Despite Claire Marburger’s third double-double of the young season, the Dutch women fell 72-59. Coe held a five point halftime lead, but outscored Central 21-10 in the pivotal third quarter to pull away.

Marburger’s final line was 27 points, 10 rebounds and three steals. Central is now 5-1.

The Coe men used a 12-2 run midway through the second half to turn a six point advantage into a runaway 75-56 decision, dropping Central to 3-1.

Kyle Smith led the Dutch with 12 points and Colby Taylor added 11 and 10 rebounds.
