The Central College men’s basketball team was in search of it’s second consecutive upset victory last night at Augustana of Illinois, but the Dutch fell short to the 24th-ranked Vikings 88-73.

Central actually led 35-34 at intermission, and were ahead 57-55 with under 11 mintues to play. But Auggie used a 7-0 run to take the lead, and slowly pulled away down the stretch.

Trashawn Boyd’s 20 point, 11 rebound double-double paced Central, and Colby Taylor, with 14, and Austin Glawe, with 12, were also in double figures scoring.

The Dutch drop to 7-2 on the season, and are off until a trip to Wisconsin Dells between Christmas and New Years.
