Central used a big third quarter to pull away from Monmouth in a 65-44 women’s basketball victory yesterday afternoon at Kuyper Gym.

The Dutch led 28-19 at the half, but exploded for a 24-9 third quarter to ice the game.

Four Central players were in double figures, led by Claire Marburger’s 15 points and 7 rebounds. Kaitlyn Johnson added 13, Emily Dine chipped in 11 and Jackie Kriegel scored 10.

The Dutch are 8-2 on the season, and will be in action again on Friday at Webster of Missouri.

Today, it’s the Central men’s team’s turn to take to the hardwood. The Dutch have travelled north to Wisconsin Dells, where they’ll tackle Wisconsin-Stout tonight and Wisconsin-Whitewater tomorrow afternoon.
