The Eagles finish the 2016 portion of their season at 6-2, 1-2 in the LHC, with their only two losses to Pella and Indianola, the top-ranked teams in Iowa’s two largest classes.

Pella Christian turned the tables in the boys game, leading from start to finish, but the Indians didn’t make it easy. Levi Jungling hit two early 3-pointers and scored 13 first half points as the Eagles built a 31-25 halftime advantage.

In the second half, Pella Christian pounded the ball inside to Kenden Veenstra (13 points) and David Kacmarynski (10), who combined to score 23 in the game, including an emphatic Veenstra dunk in traffic. The Eagles built an 11 point lead, saw it slip to just four midway through the fourth, and then pulled away down the stretch.

Pella Christian improves to 4-1, 2-1 in the LHC, and they’ll play their first road game of the season tomorrow night at Ballard in a boys only contest.
