The Knoxville City Council met in a special session last night to makeup for Monday night’s meeting, which was unable to reach a quorum due to illness and work conflicts.

The council approved a Tourism Advisory Commission request to change the Highway 5/92 Billboard. The proposed design encourages visiting historic Knoxville and features the Marion County Courthouse. The billboard will cost the city $259. The Council also approved a 28E agreement for mutual assistance with Polk County Area Fire and Rescue. The agreement grants the use of a foam trailer to Knoxville, when necessary. The trailer is more effective than traditional water and hoses in some fire situations. Knoxville can use the trailer for 12 hours per incident at no cost.
