The Knoxville Girls Basketball Squad got a big win over Clarke last night 40-36. The Panthers raced out to a 13-4 lead after one quarter but Clarke methodically closed the gap to three late in the game, but Knoxville made plays and free throws down the stretch to get the win. Coach Jim Uitermarkt told KNIA/KRLS Sports as inexperienced as his team is, it was nice to see the girls make winning plays when the game was on the line. Jada Agan was one of the player that Uitermarkt mentioned as being big in the second half. She scored 11 points to lead Knoxville. The Panthers are now 2-3 on the season and one-and-one in the South Central Conference. In the boys game, Knoxville defeated a pesky Clarke team by a score of 70-60. Ben Wallace played nearly the entire game in foul trouble but still scored 15 points to lead the Panthers balanced attack. Patrick Crawford scored 13 and Trent Davis also dropped in 13 points. Knoxville is now three-and-one and two-and-oh in the S-C-C. Both Panther teams are back on the road to Chariton on Friday.
