For the second straight game, the Knoxville Boys Basketball Squad had to extend their game an extra four minutes, but unlike Thursday night in Bondurant, the Panthers ended on the short end of a 63-59 decision to Oskaloosa. The game was close throughout with neither team being able to pull away. The Indians hit a baseline three with six seconds remaining in regulation to force overtime tied at 51. Coach Jeff Larson says it came down to a couple of missed free throws in regulation and overtime that made the difference but was pleased with his team’s effort all game. Trent Davis came off the bench to score 22 points to lead the Panthers who drop to 2-1 on the season. The girls got a 21 point performance from Katie Keitges but Oskaloosa got the 46-36 win. Knoxville stayed within five points most of the game until Oskaloosa hit shots down the stretch to seal the win. The Panthers stand at 1-3. Both Knoxville squads will host Clarke on Tuesday.
