Indianola High School will make their first appearance in the Tulip City as a member of the Little Hawkeye Conference tonight for a doubleheader at Pella High School.

No. 1 in Class 4A Pella will welcome No. 1 in Class 5A Indianola in a showdown between two of the best in the state in game number one.

Both undefeated and preseason favorites to make it to Wells Fargo Arena in their respective classes, the Indians represent the best team the Lady Dutch will likely play between now and any possible state tournament run.

Senior guard Ciara Buchheit says the girls are fired up and want to prove themselves against a top-tier opponent.

“Oh, it’s going to be awesome,” Buchheit says. “I’m so pumped for this game, and I know the girls are too, and I’m just excited to see what we can do against this team.”

The Indians feature future Missouri Tiger Grace Berg and Iowa State Cyclone Maggie McGraw, who are each averaging over 18 points per game.

For the Pella Little Dutch, they hope to flex their offensive muscle against a struggling Indianola boys team searching for their first victory.

Pella, at 4-1 on the year, is hoping there is carryover from a 96-point performance against Fairifeld Tuesday, while 0-4 Indianola is looking for a major upset over the boys in green to earn their first-ever Little Hawkeye win.

Coverage of doubleheader conference action begins at 6 p.m. live on kniakrls.com via the KRLS2 stream, with Andrew Schneider, Brian Vande Lune, and Mike Buchheit calling the action.
