The Pella Christian basketball teams are hoping to build momentum from hot starts to the 2016-17 season as Little Hawkeye Conference play begins tonight.

Last time the Eagles and Indians clashed in the Tulip City, the boys fell short against an improving Osky squad that earned their first victory against PC in a decade.

Head Coach Larry Hessing says this year, Oskaloosa has plenty of size to give, and will be tough to push around in the paint.

For the Eagles girls, they hope to make it 4-0 to start 2016-17 against a visiting Osky team that has split their opening games to begin their campaign.

Two of PC’s eight wins last year were against their Highway 163 rivals. Head Coach Kevin Van Maanen is hopeful to see continued growth and building of confidence.

Doubleheader coverage from Pella Christian High School begins tonight at 6 p.m., with opening tip at 6:15 p.m. live on KRLS2 at kniakrls.com with Andrew Schneider and Wynne Veenstra.
