Pella’s wrestlers battled big city competition Saturday at the Saydel Invitational, and they came away in 4th place out of 16 teams with two individual champions.
Keegan Poole was crowned heavyweight champion when he beat Hunter Jesse of the host Eagles by a 9-6 decision in the finals.
Also taking home hardware was 182-pound champ Ashton Messer, who pinned Mason Russell of North Polk to win the bracket.
Ethan Speltz was third at 145 pounds, Sam Fredrickson was third at 138, and James Van Gorp was fourth at 170.
The Little Dutch will return to the mats Tuesday night at Newton for matches against the Cardinals and Carlisle.
