The PCM Mustang wrestling team headed to Solon Thursday night in meet that could be considered their toughest of 2016.

The Mustangs faced Keokuk, Wilton and Solon on Thursday night beating both Keokuk and Wilton before finishing up with the number two ranked team in Class 2A the Solon Spartans. The Mustangs handled Keokuk 48-33 and Wilton 45-30 with relative ease before facing the much tougher Solon Spartans. The Mustangs would fall to the Spartans 60-10 only winning two match ups with Xavier Miller at 145 pounds and Clayton Welch at 220 pounds getting the only victories for the Mustangs. Lucas Roland ranked 3rd at 160 pounds would suffer his first loss of the season to the number one ranked wrestler Trevor Nelson of Solon in a 7-4 decision and Wes Cummings ranked 6th at 152 would fall to the 8th ranked Graeson Dall in a tight 7-6 decision. The Mustangs now will head into the winter break and prepare for the second half of their schedule that get will get started at the PCM high school gym with a tournament on January 7th 2017.
