Officials from Walmart are working with law enforcement to assess how to move forward following Thursday’s crash that killed three people at the store in Pella.

Senior Manager of Walmart Corporate Communications Charles Crowson tells KNIA/KRLS News the store will remain closed indefinitely until they can gather more information and repair the damage done inside of the store. He says they are currently working with store employees as well to help them through the grieving process.

“We’re concerned right now for our associates and everyone involved with this,” Crowson says. “We are putting together and putting in place our necessary procedures and protocols to make sure they are taken care of.”

A candlelight vigil will be held at 7 p.m. in front of the store to remember those lost and honor those impacted by the tragedy.

As of 1 p.m., no additional details have been released by the Iowa State Patrol and Division of Criminal Investigation about the driver of the silver F-150 that slammed through the front of the Pella Walmart just before 10 a.m. yesterday. The names of the three people killed have not officially been released.
