With a 21-game schedule, any individual game may not seem like a huge deal. But for the Pella Christian boys basketball team, their most recent game, a 54-52 overtime win over Pella, was indeed huge.

The Eagles had dropped a double overtime decision to Oskaloosa in their only previous Little Hawkeye Conference game, and are in the middle of a week break after the Pella game.

Coach Larry Hessing says that he didn’t want his team to deal with another difficult loss with such a long layoff between games.

“Sitting on another loss, an overtime loss, it would have been really tough to sit on that for six or seven days. So, this is a good way for us to move forward.”

With the win over Pella, Pella Christian’s boys are 3-1 on the season and 1-1 in LHC play. They’ll get back on the hardwood Friday night at Norwalk.
