Earning a trio of victories at the Iowa Conference duals on Saturday was enough for Central College wrestler C.J. Pestano to be recognized as the Iowa Conference wrestler of the week.

Pestano, ranked fourth nationally, was also named the league’s male athlete of the week.

Taking on Wartburg, Dubuque and Buena Vista, Pestano buzzed through the competition to the tune of a 3-1 decision, a 12-2 major decision and a 22-3 technical fall.

The highlight of his day was knocking off sixth-ranked Arnulfo Olea of Wartburg in the opening match of the day for the Dutch.

Pestano and Central host William Penn tomorrow night in a 7pm dual at Kuyper Gym.
